Incredible Variation on the Pride & Prejudice Spinoff

Oh my. I MUST buy this book just because of the title:

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: The Classic Regency Romance -- Now with Ultraviolent Zombie Mayhem!

As a dedicated Jane Austen fan, with Pride and Prejudice being my all-time favorite book, I must find out how much violence the book does to the original story...

Will this be Elizabeth Bennet's worst nightmare? Will Miss Bingley, Wickham and Lydia be eaten by zombies? Will Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy still get together at the end?

Could this book make my my horror-loving friend Charles Gramlich learn to like Austen?

Thanks go to Jan B. for alerting me to it.

I must admit, this tantalizes me quite a bit. I'm definitely going to circle around it before deciding whether to go in for the kill or not.

Sounds interesting! Jan B. doesn't happen to live on the Northshore, does she? The director of our library is a Jan B.

CHARLES, hah! I won't be able to resist buying it--may even pre-order. (The official release date is May 13.) I am finding lots of Google hits on it...there's even talk of it being made into a movie.

LANA, the Jan B. I mentioned lives in Uptown New Orleans and isn't a librarian, but a museum curator and a longtime good friend who loves Pride and Prejudice almost as much as I do.

I was trying not to get sucked into buying this, but the interest surrounding it is so huge that it seems that I'm getting pulled in in spite of myself!

The cover and title are so great, but can the book live up to them? I'm going to hold off and see what everyone else thinks of the book.

Thank jebus for the *debit* card-- not having credit is the only thing keeping me from ordering that title RIGHT THIS VERY MINUTE!!!!

Thanks for the heads-up.
